A Poem by Leonard Pigg III
It’s easier to pay for someone else’s sin
You feel like the hero that’s just stepped in
If they get upset, you don’t give a damn
It gives you another reason to resent your fellow man (or woman)
My compassion is withering at an astronomical rate
All my ex-friends and former lovers taught me to hate
Neglected by those near and far away
Save the anger for another day
There’s too many people to fight
There’s too many people to spite
The sky is falling, the baby’s bawling
I have sunk so low, even the Devil won’t go
As deep as I have, a lonely path
I am a pariah, without desire
A heart burning with divine fire.
